i just got back from ubin on friday!
hahaha.

the camp is mix pasir ris sec with bedok green sec.
so i made new friends!
hahaha.
my group name was MUNSHI.
came from a famous man in the past, called munshi abdullah.
the other 2 grps were KURT and BO SENG.
kurt is the founder of obs.
and bo seng is the lim bo seng that one.
haha.

in my group,

from pasir ris - me, mas, nora, zilla, hazirah, aisyahlee, aqilah, & xin yu!
from bedok green - muhsin, rizal, maya, nadiah, SJ, hazel, jia yi, & han ming!

so!
first day!
it was super draggy.
everyone felt like wanting to go homee.
then in the afternoonafternoon,
we learnt some kayaking drills.
den we must all capsize our triyaks.
-its called triyak coz its a kayak but for 3 ppl. :D
hahaa.
okayyy.
thenn,
the water's kinda dirty you know.
haha.
1st day we spent alot of time sorting things out,
the duties, roles, rations and all.
haha.

and yes, we slept in tents,
throughout all 4 nights.

second day!
had pt in the morning.
then dotdotdot.
we did the trust 4 tingy.
then did belaying.
then did rockclimbing.
rockclimbing!
there were 3 lanes.
but got 2 ropes ah.
so means 2 at a time.
thennn,
i go first.
and i happened to get the harder one!
damnnn.
hahaha.
there were 7 panels.
then at the 3rd or 4th panel i think,
only got one rock available.
the other one is faulty.
and the other is pointless.
like really flat.
so i got stuck there for a long long time.
and hadta end up climbing more to the next lane,
then back to mine.
its like super tiring,
to be hanging at the same spot for a long time.
almost wanted to give up there.
finally got through,
made to the 4th, 5th, 6th panel..
my hands and fingers trembling readyyyy.
hahaha, so i gave up at th 6th out of 7th panel.

haha, ohwells.
when i got down,
the rope spinning spinning. dushh.
but soon later, okay ready.
hahaa kental.
den i continue lah cheer for the rest. :D

3rd day!
munshi played games wit kurt.
team building games and all.
after that,
we set off!
for the land expedition.
and i was having flu.
bernard (munshi's instructor) ,
briefed us on the expedition.
then somehow,
i became the navigator.
and it was annoying coz i need to hold the map as well as handling tissues.
hahaha -.-
althou we took a long time,
sorry munshi!
it went okayokay lah.
but very very tiring.
coz we hadta carry big big hiking kinda bags.
and the boys more poor thing.
they hadta carry tents along.
den some of th girls help carry the blue groundsheet.
i helped carry the cooking pot.
very noisy when i walk.
haha.
as well as one set of mass tin.
haha, at the 3rd checkpt,
bernard brought us up this quarry thingy.
like at a cliff,
then we could see a nice scenery!
very nice.
we didnt know singapore had such a nice nature tingy.
hahaha.
but it was nice lah, the water was bluee, not green or brown.
hahah.
den yeah,
we walk. alot.
and alot.
and out of the 5 checkpoints,
we skipped 2.
haha coz not enough time HEH.
so after the 3rd checkpoint,
bernard gave the coordinates fo the campsite,
where we'll sleep for the night.
and so, we went there.
we passed that place earlier on, actually.
haha, so it was easier.
and a few my friends had abrasion.
heh, thou i dont know how it feels like.
i know its pain.

OHYES,
along the way,
we passed by a grave.
at first i didnt realise it was a grave.
it was like in the middle of nowhere.
i thought it was just a big big stone.
turned out to be some chinese grave.
heh.
.
so we stopped and pitched our tents for the night,
cooked and eat.
and that night we hadta do centri duty.
each tent is about 30mins or 45.
mine was 30mins. [12-12.30]
ohyes, zilla was sent back to camp1 that night,
coz of fever.
so my tent was only left wit me, mas & nora.
and nora couldnt wake up.
so only got me and mas.
we walked around and walked fo 5 mins.
den sleepily went back in our tent.
HEH.
but we stayed awake!
note that.
at about 12.25,
we went to the boys tent, to wake em up.
its their turn.
i didnt know it'd take some time.
hahaa.
den later then they wake up ah.
mmhmmm.
.
fourthday!
munshi and kurt played games together with bo seng.
den play play play.
haha.
then soon,
they briefed us about the sea expedition.
munshi, kurt hunt, and bo seng, gonna go together.
oh btw, each watch(team) got about 16 ppl.
so together, we are MUN-KURT-BO!
hahaha.
then each watch nidta send 2 representatives,
to be sea exp leaders.
so total got 6.
munshi - ME & SJ.
kurt - sakinah & chloe.
bo seng - ferdaus & joan.
i think.
hahaa.
den frm the 6 of us,
nid 2 navigators, - wit compass & map.
2 sweepers - who'll be at the back to chase ppl to go faster.
1 port marker - aka left marker to tell ppl to shift to the left or right.
& 1 starboard marker - aka right marker ' '
coz we're suppose to travel in a so called diamond shape.
if u kno what i mean.
hahah.
okay so.
i was scared lah,
i main navigator sey.
then if we go wrong route,
16x3 ppl might blame me.
its like, 16x3 ppl's route are in my hands!
so yeah
but the sea expedition was more fun den land expedition.
more GEREK.
in my opinion lah.
haha.
i get doubtful at every junction,
LEFT or RIGHT?
hahaha,
den got one point,
we went abit wrong way.
we turned right,
and after a few metres,
i was like,
oh shit!
we're suppose to go left.
then i felt paisey lah.
we shouted to everyone to move back abit.
coz the back ppl are still at the junction.
den the 2 navigator triyaks,
made our way first.
then the rest folo.
so as i passed all the other triyaks,
i was like,
'eh sorry ah everyone,'
like,
paisey, you know!
hahaha.
so we continued.
oh yes,
along the way,
my triyak - me, mas, & nadiah
and fer's triyak - fer & janson(or genson?)
hahah,
we were gossiping!
hahaah,
its an alternative to avoid seasick - instructor said.
besides eating, and sniffing oranges, and stuffing orange peel into ur nose.
haha really!
fun man!
then there were 2 portages(however you spell it)
its where, some part of the route,
where u have to cross over on land.
meaning, you're suppose to carry the triyaks from one side to another.
then continue paddling.
get what i mean?
haha aiya i dont know how to explain!
hahaha.
so then the leaders were suppose to make sure all this go smoothly.
den, yeah.
the first portage, everyone take break.
eat some snacks.
the 2nd one,
very dramatic. somehow.
hahah.
it was like very slipperyyy!
i see, like moviemovie like that.
like merempuhi & merentasi manymany obstacles.
hahaa, but fun lah, *adventurous!* ^^
like u wanna get up, u feel the soil,
like playdough.
hahaha. really!
like, just to get up is so difficult,
what more, to get the kayaks up.
this part of the journey,
everyone got really dirty.
and like falling and again and again.
haha.
it took alot of co-operation lah this part.
but MUN-KURT-BO made it throughh!
hahaha.
denn,
we launched offf, and continue.
i diedie thought, when we continue,
everyone launched their kayaks alr.
turned out, that some kayaks were still abit behind.
den i kena sound abit.
but we went on lah anyway.
SORRY.
then,
we continueeee.
and we reached the north part of the island!
then must continue,
westwards,
then southwards.
etc.
hahah.
then reach camp 1.
its like,
many ppl got seasick,
but when they saw the end point jetty,
everyone suddenly got motivated
to row and row and row!
hahaha.
yuppyuppp.
den finally we reached.
we started at about 11.
ended at about 5 or so.

then,
we got our triyaks cleaned up and all.
and transported our bags,
from the speedboat, to land.
and that was when,
i went there,
and they were like,
'faizah, i got bad news for you'
here and there.
i was like ah?
hahaa *lost*
then the razy was like,
apologizing lah.
i thought what,
skali,
he dropped my slipper into the sea.
and it flowed away.
only the right side thou.
i put em at the side pocket.
maybe my fault ah, never put in properly.
haha but still.
my orange trail slippers!
i'll miss you.
hahaa.

okay so we had some 'bonding session'
for all 3 watches tgr.
fun lah.

den summore got story of ah siang.

yes, i had fun!

friday! - fifth day!
in the morning, had pt like usual,
then get our bags packed.
cleared place.
check store.
all items in tact.
den all got our duties lah.
then we drew bernard doing the dodo dance!

and the 16 of us watching.
den we give him.
hahaha.
we got our photos.
bought the obs shirt.
and the certificate,
is like,
given out, uniquely.
everyone got hold of one certificate,
wich wasnt theirs.
because,
bernard said,
thoughout the 5 days,
there's no other person who is more fit to give the certificate,
than our own buddies.
hahaha.
and i randomly got aisyah's.
denn, my one was given by muhsin. *insert boy!*
hahahaa,
and everyone shake hand shake hand lah.
hahaha.

den we waited fo the boat to come and fetch us to send us back to punggol jetty.
so sad, to part away.
